There is no Silence, only the Peace of gentle sounds —
Of deep basses that rumble from beneath the earth,
That emanate from leaves that rustle in the whispering wind.
[…]
In a darkened room — the flow of blood within,
The sparks that flash between the synapse gaps,
The dying cells that scream.
[…]
Outside, the vessels pass —
The sandy grains they touch —
The noise of endless ants that rush —
The sounds are all around.
[…]
No silence ever was.
Not even Death can bring —
For who can tell that after life
The Peace we’ll know is silent, still?
